Central Ohio Rain Garden Initiative Launches New Website
Monday March 30, 2009
The Central Ohio Rain Garden Initiative (CORGI) and Franklin Soil and Water Conservation District are pleased to announce that a new, locally-based rain garden website has been launched. Visit http://www.centralohioraingardens.org/ to learn more about rain gardens: why they are desirable, how to design and install them, which plants to use, where to go for information, and where to find demonstration sites in central Ohio. Another exciting feature is the Submit Your Rain Garden button that allows CORGI to expand their list of rain gardens. From this, CORGI has calculated how much storm water has been infiltrated through the use of rain gardens instead of going through the storm water system. Franklin County has over 33 rain gardens that collect over one million gallons of storm water each year.
