Our Grants

Due to our various funding sources, we have multiple grant programs available! Our 2025 grant programs are summarized below with links to more information. Please note, these grants and their details may change from year to year. If you are interested in applying, whether you're totally new to this or a seasoned pro, please reach out ahead of the deadline. We can provide technical assistance or help fine-tune your application before you submit.

  • Urban Ag Critical Infrastructure Grant - Available to for-profit and non-profit growers in Franklin County on 5 acres or less. This grant was created to increase infrastructure that helps local farms and community gardens to scale up their production and distribution such as high tunnels, water service, cold/dry storage, and market stands. Up to $15,000 per project or $20,000 for water line installation. Applications were accepted January 3, 2025 - January 31, 2025
  • Conservation Mini-Grants - Available to 501c non-profits for conservation projects in Franklin County. Up to $2,000 per project. Eligible projects include green infrastructure, stormwater reduction and filtration, rain gardens, habitat improvement, invasive species removal, native plantings, and soil improvements. Applications were accepted February 1 - February 28, 2025.
  • Columbus Business Rebates -> now called "Community Beyond Backyards Grants" - Available to businesses, non-profits, and not-for-profit organizations for green infrastructure and stormwater runoff reduction projects. Eligible projects include rainwater collection, rain gardens, native plants, and stormwater retrofits or maintenance. Grants are available in Columbus, Bexley, Dublin, Grove City, Westerville, Worthington, and 1 anywhere in Franklin County. Up to $2,500 per project. Applications were accepted February 1 - February 28, 2025.
  • Columbus Tree Assistance Program (TAP) - Available to civic associations, neighborhood associations, HOAs, and organized groups of landowners seeking to plant native trees and increase tree canopy cover within Columbus city limits. Up to $2,000 per project. Fall planting. Applications will be accepted February 1 - March 31, 2025.
Organizations can apply for multiple programs (i.e TAP & mini-grant) for different projects (i.e. residential tree planting project & rain garden project), but projects will be awarded from one program. We have limited funding for each program, so we will not be able to award everyone who applies, but free technical assistance is always available - regardless of award status.
