Employees of soil and water conservation districts are part of a nationwide family. In some states, the districts encompass multiple counties or are known as water conservation districts or simply as conservation districts. But we all work closely with local landowners who voluntarily install best management practices to conserve, protect and preserve precious natural resources. Go to our
Employment Opportunities page if you would like to join this conservation family.
Franklin Soil and Water sometimes needs volunteers to help with tree planting, invasives removal or a stream clean-up. These volunteer opportunities are usually child-friendly with tasks that have a range of difficulty. We ask you to wear long pants, sturdy shoes and weather appropriate outer-wear. You will also need to sign a waiver for you and your child. We provide water and snacks and lots of fun!
