Please join us for an educator workshop focused on all things soil! Participants will dig deeper into soil, unearthing information about soil types, horizons, soil organisms, fossils, erosion, Ohio’s geologic history and so much more. Workshop participants will have the opportunity to learn from leaders in the field as Franklin Soil and Water Staff and guest presenters from Orton Geologic Museum, Ohio Department of Natural Resources and SWACO share interdisciplinary lessons/learning activities through hands-on investigations. Participants will leave the workshop with new information, lessons/materials and community resources that can be used in the classroom to connect students to our local community/environment.
The content presented in this workshop has been created for students in grades 3-8, however we believe the content can be adapted for younger elementary and high school students. We welcome all educators, in all grade levels and subject areas, to attend this workshop.
